The Executive Board of the Houston County Bar Association is pleased to announce that Tommy Stalnaker, Chairman of the Houston County Board of Commissioners has been selected as the recipient of the 2014 Liberty Bell Award.
The Liberty Bell Award is the most prestigious award given by lawyers to a non-lawyer. The purpose of the Award is to recognize community service that has strengthened the American system of freedom under law. The Liberty Bell Award is given for outstanding service in promoting a better understanding of our Constitution and the Bill of Rights; encouraging greater respect for law and the courts; stimulating a deeper sense of individual responsibility so that citizens recognize their duties as well as their rights; contributing to the effective functioning of our institutions of government; and, fostering a better understanding and appreciation of the rule of law.
Tommy Stalnaker’s support of the Houston County Bar Association through participation in our annual Law Day ceremony and his public service to Houston County as Chairman of the Houston County Board of Commissioners are just two examples of how his service to our community strengthens the American system of freedom under law.
The Houston County Bar Association will host a luncheon in honor of Chairman Stalnaker on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. to present him with the Liberty Bell Award. The luncheon will be held at the Warner Robins Conference Center located at Courtyard by Marriott, 589 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia. The luncheon is sponsored by Johathan Eisner, John David Miller, and George Bassett of Northwestern Mutual.
