Dear Houston County Bar Association,

As you may know, I serve on the State Bar of Georgia’s Access to Justice Committee.  The Committee is soliciting nominations for its annual Pro Bono Awards.   I hope you will help us identify and celebrate Georgia lawyers and law firms who are demonstrating excellence in our profession by ensuring that every Georgian has access to justice. Please review the awards below and nominate any deserving lawyers you know. The nomination form is here and nominations are due by September 15, 2023.

• H. Sol Clark Award – recognizing an individual lawyer who has excelled in one or more of a variety of activities which extend legal services to the poor
• William B. Spann Jr. Award – recognizing a law firm, bar association, or community organization assisting underserved segments of the population
• A Business Commitment to Pro Bono Award – recognizing the business law contributions of an individual lawyer, corporate legal department, or law firm to the nonprofit sector in Georgia
