Skeet received his B.A. in 1970 from the University of Georgia and his J.D. in 1973 from Mercer. While in law school, Skeet was a member of Phi Delta Phi legal honor society. He was admitted to the bar in 1973 and he currently is a member of the Houston County Bar Association and State Bar of Georgia.

Skeet was elected and served as a City Councilman for the City of Perry in 1976. Skeet is the former managing partner of the firm and his practice areas include residential, commercial, farm and timber real estate transactions, banking, business law, wills, estates and probate.
